a better day in ok...

today is a whole new day, and getting better bit-by-bit. first, news of loki; the vet says he is getting better with the blood transfusion, but he still needs to stay in the doggie hospital until at least monday morning. we are confident and the veterinarian we found here is excellent and very personable, which makes us feel good, too. the scenery around us here in central oklahoma is a fairly flat expanse of prairie, as you can see in the photos. we will have a prolonged stay here in the el reno area at the cherokee koa in calumet, ok (about 10 miles west of el reno proper) for a couple more days at least. we checked out the cherokee trading post today and had lunch at the cherokee restaurant. afterwards, we checked out the large painted bison statues around the grounds. now, we are back in the trailer, as it is beginning to rain lightly again. nancy brought along some quilt piecing to do, so she is a happy camper. as for me, i found a western on tv, have a book to read, and a blog to keep up on. and we figure that this trailer is a great luxury, since most of our camping has been in a volkswagen vanagon van for the last 13 years. i cannot even imagine now how the two of us, plus two dogs, ever made it at the vw bus campouts...
